Pre-Employment Hearing Tests - What You Need to Know
Many jobs in Queensland require you to demonstrate that your hearing meets industry or safety standards.
Under new Work Health & Safety QLD regulations, employers must arrange audiometric (hearing) testing for workers who use hearing protection in noisy workplaces, ensuring early detection of hearing loss and compliance with safety requirements. We provide:
Police hearing tests (Queensland Police Service standard)
Mining, construction, and transport audiometry
Hearing tests for apprentices, trainees, and students
Occupational health screenings
Hearing tests for WorkCover & return-to-work programs
We use calibrated equipment and compliant testing methods in line with Australian standards. Results can be forwarded to your employer or employment agency on request.

The different types of workplace and pre-employment hearing tests we do
Pre employment Screening: At times, hearing assessment is required at the time of employment as a baseline hearing level and to identify any pre-existing pathologies.
Workcover Hearing Assessment: Our Audiologists are GEPI trained and have extensive experience in hearing assessment and report writing as required by Workcover.
CASA Aviation Licensing testing: CASA stipulates that a hearing test is needed for Class 1 & Class 3 medical certificates. Our experienced Audiologist are well versed with CASA regulations and reporting requirements.
Divers Audiogram: The Dive Medical assesses the ability of the diver to survive unexpected underwater or on-surface emergencies. Hearing assessment is an integral part of the general examination.

How long does a pre-employment hearing test take?
The test typically takes 15–30 minutes, and we can often provide results the same day.
